Stafford Brothers Join Purple Fly With Unique Dance-Pop Rendition of Blink-182’s “I Miss You”

While we thought this trend of remaking classic hits was limited to dance and pop genres, but rock can’t get away that easy. On our latest visit over to Purple Fly we are checking out “I Miss You”, the latest drop from Stafford Brothers.  For those of you who haven’t heard of Purple Fly, it is a brand new music label making a major splash in the current market. A completely independent imprint, Purple Fly embraces the current hype around NFTs in the cryptocurrency world with one goal in mind…support their artists. On a larger scale, Purple Fly aims to support collaborations of all forms of art, connecting music and stunning visuals for a truly immersive experience. The label will be dropping NFTs with each music drop, allowing direct support from fans for their favorite artists. There are many artists joining in the movement, including the Stafford Brothers Golf Pichaya Zafrir, MSPUIYI, Goldfish,  DJ SODA, Hard Lights, Flaremode, IZKO, Danny Ores, Drezio, Laidback LukeBLVD.Fatman ScoopShaquille O’NealSevenn, and more as part of the Purple Fly roster. Hell, Pichaya brings a storied 16-year career and lengthy discography of over 10 albums with him, continuing his stride to cement his work as a solo artist.

Oh we see you hopping on this trend Purple Fly, but of course you have to tweak the formula. With the numerous amounts of remakes coming out of the woodwork, we didn’t think we’d dabble in the rock pool with this one. However, Stafford Brothers use “I Miss You” to explore unfamiliar sounds after the success of their latest hit “Hello” Ft. Lil Wayne and Christina Milan. Since “I Miss You” is easily one of the most iconic singles about teenage angst, Stafford Brothers found it as a necessity to keep those strong emotions intact. Instead of amending the vocals, the original rock instrumentals are stripped away for a breezy and light organic backdrop for the emotions to truly shine through. While it truly is an interesting interpretation of the original track, we feel that it just hits too different to be a proper homage to the original. However, if you are one of those who like interesting changes and remakes, the Stafford Brothers has a gift for you.
