The Stafford Brothers Remake Safri Duo’s Mainstage Anthem “Played-A-Live.” Out Now on Purple Fly
When you want to pay homage to those that came before you, it is time to put your modern touch on the project. On our latest visit over to Purple Fly we are checking out “Played-A-Live”, the latest release from the Stafford Brothers. For those of you who haven’t heard of Purple Fly, it is a brand new music label making a major splash in the current market. A completely independent imprint, Purple Fly embraces the current hype around NFTs in the cryptocurrency world with one goal in mind…support their artists. On a larger scale, Purple Fly aims to support collaborations of all forms of art, connecting music and stunning visuals for a truly immersive experience. The label will be dropping NFTs with each music drop, allowing direct support from fans for their favorite artists. There are many artists joining in the movement, including the Stafford Brothers Golf Pichaya, Zafrir, MSPUIYI, Goldfish, DJ SODA, Hard Lights, Flaremode, IZKO, Danny Ores, Drezio, Laidback Luke, BLVD., Fatman Scoop, Shaquille O’Neal, Sevenn, and more as part of the Purple Fly roster. Hell, Stafford Brothers are already back for a 2nd round, as no one can get enough of that Purple Fly magic.
While we thought that this trend might have taken a back seat now that the summer is over, but our guess might have just been a tad bit off. The latest to hop on the remake train, Stafford Brothers decided to make their return to Purple Fly to drop their rendition of “Played-A-Live” (The Bongo Song). Originally created by the Safari Duo all the way back in 2000, the original version of “Played-A-Live” became an international hit placing in the top 10 in more than 20 different countries. “Played-A-Live” continues to live and breathe for the next generation, just now with a modern electronic twist. While Stafford Brothers keep to core bongo beats alive and full, their addition of a driving electronic melody just picks up the pace by a few BPM. There is enough of the original track alive and well to appease fans of the original, while at the same time serving as a re-introduction to the new members of the wider EDM community.
