Artist Olivia Morreale Teases Synthwave Pop Soul Fusion Sound in New Single “PARASOMNIA”
One of our favorite moments when it comes to featuring a new artist is when we can look at their musical influences. The ways musicians develop their own style from well-known greats is absolutely amazing. Diving deep into the world of indie music we are checking out “PARASOMNIA”, the newest single from artist Olivia Morreale. Dabbling in singing and piano from an early age, Olivia grew up in a music-friendly household that helped grow her creativity as a musician. Surrounded by jazz greats such as Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra, these artists helped create the foundation for her love of jazz, which further blossomed once Olivia moved to New York City for high school. Finally migrating over to Los Angeles to pursue an education at USC, Olivia fell in love with songwriting and quickly began developing her own sound. Blending her jazz background with the west coast indie pop of LA, Olivia created her own version of synth-pop, chillwave, and soul.

While she may still be relatively new to the scene, Olivia Morrealle is quickly introducing the indie world to her unique blend of synth and pop. Having released her first single “NO ANSWER” back in late-January, Olivia is already back to give listeners a second taste of her upcoming debut EP SPACE DREAMS. This brand new single, “PARASOMNIA” may sound like just another indie-pop song right out the gate, but the track is more deceptive than it appears. While it incorporates plenty of traditional elements of current indie pop, but the track quickly devolves into a synth and bass-heavy experience that we don’t see too often. If this is the kind of music that we have to look forward to from Olivia Morrealle, then we are eager for SPACE DREAMS to push its way into our rotation.
