Even though we’re now into the time of pumpkin spice and changing colors, some aren’t ready to let summer go just yet. On our latest visit over to Protocl we are checking out “Hot Summer Nights”, the latest from label boss Nicky Romero and W&W. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament. Romero’s list of accomplishments keeps growing, now including a brand new partnership with Fader Pro and a release of his own NFT collection!
Even though the current heatwave we’re in (at the time of writing this article) makes us think we’re still in the summertime, everyone except for our producers today are leaning into the fall grind. Using sultry vocals and soaring melodies to set the stage, Romero and W&W crafted the main stage progressive house anthem that could serve as a significant last hurray for summer 2022. A send-off in that signature Romero style that we are oh so familiar with, “Hot Summer Nights” is a testament to those nights that will go down in history, dancing with beautiful friends and strangers, all vibing on the same wavelength. It’s clear that Romero and W&W have no intentions of letting our first summer in two years leave so easily. “Hot Summer Nights” will be blasting on stages and in rotations as long as the warm nights still keep coming.
