Mau5trap Alert: BlackGummy Releases Trifecta EP “Monolith”

Now we don’t cover Mau5trap’s releases as much as we cover other record labels, but is about to change. Today we have the latest from BlackGummy with his third EP Monolith, a fantastic EP release to add to his catalog. Monolith will serve as the trifecta of his EPs with mau5trap, following his previous releases Singularity and Impactor. BlackGummy is as enigmatic as they come, with his origins shrouded in mystery as well as his true identity. Many rumors swirl around Gummy, as some even say he is a recluse who only leaves his home to perform for his fans in disguise.

As for Monolith, the EP is quite a challenging roller coaster. The EP opens ominously with the driving bassline of “Iconoclast”, preparing the listener for a taste of what exactly they are getting into. Gummy keeps the progressive and house beats/style through both “Arp Makes Sphinx Purr” and “Desert Fire”, keeping with the style and beginning to drive the EP home. The EP finishes with “Edifice”, whose synth work will round things out in an enigma just like the EP began. A perfect ribbon.
