Manic Focus Kicks Down the Door of 2022 With High-Octane New Single “Back From The Future”
Sometimes you frankly have to run forward into the future with full speed, plowing over any obstacles in your way. On out latest visit over to WAKAAN we are checking out “Back From The Future”, the latest drop by Manic Focus. The latest project from John “JMaC” McCarten, a superb producer that has been absolutely killing it out of Denver, CO. Originally hailing from the Twin Cities, McCarten developed his love for music early on with the piano and developed a natural ear for music production. With plenty of musical influences to choose from, McCarten found his roots in funk, soul, and new-era hip-hop, all with the intention of expanding upon those roots to develop his own sound. Since starting his career, JMaC has released six full studio albums, 15 singles since the last major drop, as well as numerous remixes for the likes of Zed’s Dead, Pretty Lights, and GRiZ to name a few. He’s also had many notable festival performances, including Lollapalooza, Hulaween, North Coast Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and many more!
“This tune is about raging into the future with optimism and swag. I wrote the main idea in a hotel room before a show. I needed a song to bridge a gap in my set, so I made a big crunchy beat in 20 min. I played it that night and it went better than expected, so I elaborated on the idea and turned it into a full song with 2 drops. I was imagining the energy of the crowd I was about to play for and putting that energy into a song. The vocals say ‘Bring that s*** back’ , and that s*** is the awesome energy the fans bring to shows.” – Manic Focus
While we haven’t been active listeners of hip-hop and hip-hop influenced in a hot minute, this track has us inching over back to the other side. The latest to come out of the Manic Focus camp, “Back From The Future” is a high energy banger that is motivating in the most aggressive way possible, eagerly offering its energy to us to use in our own journey forward. Originally created by Manic Focus as a filler beat to bridge the gap into his set, “Back From The Future” could not be contained and had to burst forth into its own amalgamation. This single is perfect for keeping the listener’s and audience’s energy at peak levels, as anyone who wants to use this track to calm down is absolutely crazy. If you need some high-octane trap to keep you motivated and moving forward, “Back From The Furture” should have been in your playist already.
