WAVEDASH Drops "Opening Ceremony" EP, Lulling Listeners to Join the Fray

Let this week’s opening ceremonies begin! Kicking off our coverage this week we have finally treated to “The Same”. WAVEDASH’s final track off of their new Opening Ceremony EP over on the Gud Vibrations imprint. This Opening Ceremony EP is now the fourth release from the new Gud Vibrations label, after making a welcomed splash with the initial release of WAVEDASH’s “Deathwish”. Founded by successful artists NGHTMRE and SLANDER, the Gud Vibrations idea began when they started their careers in 2014. The idea has since evolved and has become a multi-event series, selling out at every venue where it is booked. This is just the beginning though, as we can’t wait to see more and feel those Gud Vibrations.
We’re so thankful and excited that ‘Opening Ceremony‘ got to be the very first release on the Gud Vibrations record label. Aesthetically we’ve been touching on this idea of a future where bike racing is a big deal for the world, in a similar way to that of the Olympics or the World Cup. It’s very inspired by media we love like Akira and Star Wars, and it’s something we’ll continue exploring into 2019 and potentially beyond.” – WAVEDASH
While we have essentially been slow-dripped all four tracks from Opening Ceremony over the past few weeks, we definitely have no complaints. “The Same” rounds out the EP in an aggressive fashion, determined to close out their Opening Ceremony in the most epic way they can.  WAVEDASH deceives the listener right out of the gate, luring them in with a soft and innocent opening that would surprise anyone who is not familiar with their style. Once they have been snared, “The Same” immediately knocks the listener sideways with a flurry of serrating synths and stabbing bass. Bass music is an ever-evolving beast, and WAVEDASH is here to make sure it keeps changing.
