The “Belly Dancer” Producer BYOR Asks You to Dance With His New Tech House Single “Say Yes.”
You can make a name for yourself on a single label, but you will have to expand out and step out of your comfort zone when you’re ready to evolve. On our latest visit over to Spinnin’, we are checking out “Say Yes”, the newest single from BYOR. Hitting the ground running back during 2020, BYOR has been busy elevating his moniker to a household name via his releases on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label as well as AFTR:HRS. A producer who sets his own rules and sketches out his own line in the sand, on one listen it is clear that BYOR has no problem taking traditional norms and tossing it directly out the window. Back in February BYOR caught global attention thanks to his single “Belly Dancer” with Imanbek, which has already amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify below!
“The story behind the single and its title is that every DJ dreams of the same thing – a huge dancefloor filled with a responsive crowd. But even the most confident DJs, since they are all human beings, have complexes, echoes of doubts, and uncertainty. In my head, every set begins with a silent question that I’d like to ask the crowd – if I ask you to dance, would you say “Yes“? All doubts are dispelled instantly when I see the answer is ‘Yes!” – BYOR
As summer 2022 comes to a close, we need a producer with the EDM Midas Touch like BYOR to drop a summertime anthem for the ages. Once BYOR caught wind of this need, he swoops in with “Say Yes”, a sold end-of-summer house single that is equally sultry and funky. Right out of the gate BYOR teases the crowd by asking them the question “If I ask you to dance…will you say yes?”, setting the track’s sultry tone for the rest of the experience. Using this question as a hook, BYOR weaves in tech house beats with strong kickdrums and rising cymbals that transform the track into a tech house dancefloor firestarter. We have no doubt that a tech house gem like “Say Yes” will litter the end-of-summer festivals for the rest of the season and into those early autumn nights, still trying to latch onto the thrill of the summer night.
