Talented Producer R3HAB Joins Forces With Gabry Ponte For Earwormy Single “The Portrait (Ooh La La)”
While we are all for his adventures into other subgenres to expand his sound, we find R3HAB is at his finest when he’s exploring the darker side of house music. On our latest visit over to CYB3RPVNK we are checking out “The Portrait” from R3HAB. Since his adventure began, R3HAB has toured some of the best clubs in the world and amassed more than 300 million streams of his debut album. What is actually amazing however is that R3HAB was able to accomplish this with no major label backing, only working through his CYB3RPVNK imprint. Through his expanded efforts to increase CYB3RPVNK’s roster, R3HAB has been recruiting a fantastic variety of up-and-comers to provide a major range of music to his audience. With R3HAB consistently popping up on our radar, we have absolutely no idea what he is going to do next and can’t wait. We mean, just take a look. You might not recognize the name Gabry Ponte, but his 1990’s band Eiffel 65 might just ring a bell.

This single may just be a match of the earworms, with R3HAB’s modern earworm singles and Gabry Ponte’s ultimate earworm single “I’m Blue (Da Ba Dee)”. With these two joining forces, their combined skillsets created “The Portrait”, a uniquely groovy and bouncy new single from the CYB3RPVNK camp. The track paints a detailed picture of an enticing, beautiful, yet mysterious woman who catches the attention of anyone who crosses her path. Lead-in by an ominous yet intriguingly dark bass line, “The Portrait” quickly transforms into an almost sing-songy underground single. This sing-songy melody gives “The Portrait” an almost lullaby effect during the chorus, with the soft repeat of “Ooh La La” already stuck in our heads. When you have the brain behind “I’m Blue (Da Ba Dee)” in the studio, that feeling should be expected.
