San Francisco Actor Turned Musician AVATARI Teases Listeners With Nostalgia in “Saturday Night”
While many artists are looking into the future to see how they need to transform their sound, others are reaching back into the past for a little extre inspiration. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “Saturday Night”, the newest drop from Avatari. While most music artists trickle out into the scene as they grow and develop their sound, there is always another path for artists like Avatari. Initially stepping out into the professional world going down the path of an actor, now he has pivoted to focusing on his own vision of music and taking over the LA music scene. Avatari has performed at multiple notable festivals, including Bonaroo and SXSW, as well as roles in ABC’s “The Rookie” and “The Middle,” and NBC’s “Days of Our Lives”. Now partnering with 111 Studios, Avatari returns to the alt-rock scene to inject a much-needed dose of sexy synth-rock into the formula.
“‘Saturday Night’ is a song about young love. It’s about that feeling you get when you’re about to go out with your friends on a weekend and you know you might run into that special someone who ‘feels like Saturday night in your veins. I wrote and recorded the song before the pandemic was a thing, but I wanted to release it now, as we slowly re-open. Because I feel like we could all use a little bit of that Saturday Night feeling.” – Avatari
We are seeing a rather interesting trend with the newer artists. As they rise through their local scenes, we are seeing more and more musicians bring back sounds and styles from the 60s-80s that have fallen to the wayside since their heyday, Avatari is a perfect example of this with his new song “Saturday Night”, which feels as if it was ripped out of the mid-80s. Combining today’s alternative pop-rock sounds into a 1980’s synth-rock framework, Avatari teases listeners with a thrilling and nostalgic melting pot of styles that is very difficult to not fall for. The track is upbeat and energetic, infectious beyond belief, and definitely serves its purpose of being an anthem to young love from the Avatari camp. You may have found your niche Avatari, but don’t get too comfortable…we need you to keep growing and evolving your sound.
