Protocol Dive Into Club Scene With Talent Showcase “Protocol Grooves Pt. 1” EP
We have been following a few different labels for quite a long time now, yet they can’t hold a candle to one of our MiR OGs. This week we are bouncing on over to Protocol and checking out their latest showcase of talent in Protocol Grooves Pt. 1. Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings has been a mover and a shaker in the modern electronic dance scene, allowing plenty of new artists to burst onto the scene and make their mark. While Protocol has been known for progressive house music, their catalog has expanded to encompass a wide diversity of sounds. Protocol is a major player every year at Miami Music Week, and despite not having the chance to perform this year, the label has other methods to put their overwhelmingly talented roster out on display.
The latest collaborative EP from the Protocol label, Protocol Grooves Pt. 1 is primed to help usher a health-conscious club scene back into 2020. Protocol uses the new EP to let their rising stars take the stage, each adding their own flair to this club-ready record. Each producer takes a stab at a different dot on the spectrum, whether it is opening with the tech-house inspired “They Don’t Know” from CAMARDA & Almero or closing with overly-melodic and brooding “Waiting to Run” from Mosimann & VY•DA. They even let minimalism flow throughout the middle, exploring each aspect of club music. Protocol may be taking on this new venture, but we will stand strong behind them. Stay tuned for part 2!
