Nicky Romero Partners With TheClub.TV For New Augmented Reality Live Performance on April 17th.
There are plenty of artists that are innovating within their own mediums and genres, but then there are those that continue to push the limits. On our latest visit over to Protocol, we found a very interesting piece of news. Protocol’s label boss, Nicky Romero, is partnering with TheClub.TV for a special livestream event on April 17th. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament!
At this point, we feel that we can’t take our eyes off of Romero for a second otherwise he will go explore a new path to fulfill his creative urge. For those of you unfamiliar with TheClub.TV, it is a virtual streaming service that puts viewers directly in the center of a DJ’s set, providing them with an optimal view of the show. With a focus on the fans during the performance, TheClub.TV’s features allow viewers to exist on an audience screen or in their personal groups, making chatting with their favorite DJs and their friends easier. While plenty of performers have utilized their features during the world lockdown, there hasn’t been a major event quite like this. Nicky Romero will step into the hot seat on April 17th at 21:00 GMT (9 PM PST) and there will be an interesting augmented reality element to the show! The effects will adapt from track to track, so make sure buy your tickets and catch the live stream here!
