Krewella & MADGRRL Experiment With Bounce and Hardstyle On New Single “No Control”
Even when you’ve been an established duo for nearly a decade, you have to break through the creative barrier you’ve built around yourself. On our latest visit over to Mixed Kids Records we are checking out “No Control”, the latest from Krewella and MADGRRL. Bursting immediately onto the scene all the way back in 2012, Krewella appeared out of nowhere with their debut Party Hard album. The album, which now has over 130 million streams, is home to their now-certified platinum single “Alive” that has served as an introduction for many to the Krewella sound. These sisters have continued to explode since, with major hits like “Live For the Night” and “Enjoy the Ride”. Fun fact, Krewella has even nailed a coveted spot on Forbes “30 under 30” list. Makes multiple international tours seem a bit dull in comparison.
“It’s been years since we’ve made a track like this – dipping into our career-long love of hardstyle and heavy bass music, we wrote and produced this song to articulate the burgeoning chaos we’ve been craving since having a lack of human contact and indulgent experiences during the pandemic. We tapped MADGRRL, whom we’ve known for almost 10 years, and has been making some of our favorite heavy dance tracks lately to help take this one to another level of wild.” – Krewella
While Krewella hasn’t normally been a producing duo known to pigeon-hole themselves into a single genre, it still ends up happening that way after a decade in the business. However, with the assistance of MADGRRL, Krewella is back and ready to punch you in the face with their music. Normally known for their deep progressive house melodies, Krewella swapped in some hard-hitting Melbourne bounce to take its place. “No Control” is a high octane hardstyle single that will catapult those willing to the dance floor to show off their Melbourne shuffles and leave the unwilling behind. The synths may be serrating, the basslines might stab us, but Krewella’s soaring melodies meld into a sonic and chaotic musical experience. We would be thrilled if Krewella explored the hard style world further.
