Now that summer is finally on its way out and fall is already here, we have to readjust to get out of the festival music mindset. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “Back To You” the latest single from Kosling. Even though this is one of Kosling’s latest drop on the Protocol label, Kosling joins the ranks with quite a star-studded resume. Kosling found monumental success when his first single “Believe” reached 1 million streams online, leading to more successful drops on Armada Music, Proximity, Size Records, and Revealed Recordings. He’s even earned support and praise from major heavyweights in the industry such as Nicky Romero, Afrojack, David Guetta, and Tiesto!
While Kosling hasn’t been too much of a regular at Protocol while we’ve been covering the label, in our minds he has already become a consistent producer for quality house music. Another producer who is a prime example of Protocol’s fundamentals, Kosling’s latest single is one that not only increases hype levels for the end of the year but also reminds us of our introduction to EDM. “Back To You” is a nostalgic progressive house gem, with soaring melodies and high energy that are akin to the golden age of house music back in the early 2010s. Easily a party starter, Kosling builds euphoria and positive vibes throughout the tracks, letting them burst at the apex of “Back To You” while allowing the rhythm to push those wallflowers out onto the dance floor. While we are all about innovation and moving tried and true genres forward, a hit of nostalgia is refreshing from time to time.
