Jesse James Was a Hardstyle Fiend, GRAVEDGR Releases "JESSE JAMES"
Even though we here at MiR tend to lean towards the groovy, feel good, dance floor tracks, even we like to be a bit aggressive at times. To help pump up your Sunday morning we have “JESSE JAMES”, another balls to the wall banger from GRAVEDGR over on Heavyweight Records. Trying to make his mark as a standout producer to watch this year, GRAVEDGR is an enigmatic producer by night and an actual gravedigger by day. With a job like that, he is able to ponder the grey area of morality and how he can showcase the concept in his music. While simultaneously being scary/horrifying and melodic, GRAVEDGR is already pleasing the masses of bass heads throughout the world.
What we like about GRAVEDGR by far is that he appeals to our nostalgia, as a good number of our MiR writers were first introduced to electronic music by the Hardstyle genre. Loosely named after the outlaw who terrorized the populace, “JESSE JAMES” doesn’t mess around and pushes hard right out of the gate, showing its hardstyle inspired hand. The track relies heavily on GRAVEDGR’s stabbing synth work, as well as clearly a dose of Western score inspiration. If you prefer your EDM on the quieter and groovy side, GRAVEDGR may not be for you. However, for the hardstyle and bass fiends out there, make sure you catch GRAVEDGR’s first headlining show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on July 19th.
