A Visit From the Past? Sleuth’s First Remix of The Chainsmokers’ "Somebody"

It seems the more and more that the modern music industry is progressing, the more enigmatic artists that come into our field of view. Closing out our weekend round-up we have the first major remix from the enigmatic Sleuth, who decides to take a crack at The Chainsmokers’ “Somebody”. The real question though, is who the hell exactly is Sleuth? Some people say that it is just one guy hiding from the public eye while honing his craft. On the other hand, others believe that Sleuth is an underground industry that has been slowly working and manipulating the world since the 1800s.
While “Somebody” in its original form is pure Chainsmokers, Sleuth was able to change the tone of the track completely with his remix. Sleuth adds dramatic, sweeping synths to the track, creating an almost haunting experience. We feel like that this would find its home well on the setlist/playlist of a dark gothic nightclub. While Sleuth has added their signature touch, they still preserved the vocal work from the “Somebody” to capture the initial appeal. While this may be the first time we’ve heard of Sleuth, we are excited to see who they turn out to be.
Be sure you check out Sleuth’s remix below!
