Desert Dwellers Release “One Giant Consciousness” Remix Package, The World of Fungi Awaits…
The world of psychedelic bass can be a magical journey to absolutely just lose yourself and embrace the soundscape around you. On today’s trip into the psych world we are checking out One Giant Consciousness, a brand new remix package from the Desert Dwellers. Created by musician friends Amani Friend & Treavor Moontribe, the Desert Dwellers specialize in the infusions of electro and dance beats with world music. Stimulation for the mind, this deep fusion of cultural sounds and downtempo framework serves as an introduction for many into an entire genre of music that they could normally pass over. Deep bass, earthy percussion, etheric voices and surreal instrumentals…meet the Desert Dwellers sound.
While we do often explore the background of a track if it is interesting enough, and this track has one that we just have to share. Originally created back in the summer of 2020, One Giant Consciousness was the result of these Dwellers collaborating with famous mycologist Paul Statmets. The track was actually crafted in partnership; with filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg’s documentary Fantastic Fungi, which explores the beauty and complexity that is the fungal network crowing right underneath our feet! Now revisiting the track in 2021, Desert Dwellers reached out into their global network and found six producers to add their various takes to this fungal-inspired audible trip. While each producer keeps the core world and ambient sounds intact, they all traverse this soundscape through their own unique styles. Whether it is downtempo, psych bass, tribal, ambient, or psydub, there is plenty of styles for you to enjoy.
