Composer Graeme Cornies’s Kodiak Arcade Releases New Beautifully Emotional Single “I’m Fine”

The more we explore the independent scene the more we see how powerful music can be during our childhood to raise our artistic passions. On our latest dive into the indie pool we are checking out “I’m Fine”, the newest single from the talented Kodiak Arcade. Fronted by Graeme Cornies, Kodiak Arcade was birthed into the world back in 2016 as a passion art project for Graeme to explore other avenues. While music has always been a constant in Graeme’s life, initially piquing his interest as he watched his mother create albums as a harpist. By the time he reached his teens, he already developed his own network of collaborators and traded any additional funds available for a sweet session in the studio. Now having the drive to make his own music, his journey led him to explore musical studies in college and joining forces with collaborators in 2005 to hit the ground running with his own never-ending art project. Over the last fifteen years since, Graeme has worked as a composer and scorer for more than 40 different tv-shows, numerous documentary features, AAA games, and has thrived in a muscially creative playground ever since.

Pressing play on any one of Kodiak’s tracks, you can immediately tell that he comes from a composer background. “I’m Fine” perfectly captures this, appearing right out of the gate large and grandiose, filling your listening space to the brim with atmospheric sounds. With all of the tragedy that the world experience in the last year, Graeme wanted to craft a track that serves as an ode to those who have tried to stick it out. “I’m Fine” is a beautiful celebration for those people who have stuck around when we weren’t our best, bringing attention to those who exercise patience and can serve as the flickering light of a candle shining through the darkness. Kodiak uses hi-fi beats to create an excellent soundscape that serves as a homage to lo-fi sounds of our past, honoring those organic performances that were created without computers. While this may just be Graeme’s long-term art project, we would be thrilled to experience more songs from Kodiak Arcade throughout the rest of 2021.
