UK Rising Star Chapter & Verse Releases Nostalgic UK Garage Single “Ready For The Rave”
While we are always ready for the next big trend in electronic music, we are equally ready to take a walk down memory lane. On our latest visit to Helix Records we are checking out “Ready For The Rave”, the latest single from Chapter & Verse. While he just entered the professional EDM scene back in 2020, Chapter & Verse has already snagged the spot of a top rising star from the UK. In just two years, he has already dropped bangers on Sony, Solotoko, Heldeep, Warner, Thrive, and Insomniac just to name a few. The attention doesn’t stop there though, as Chapter & Verse has also received plenty of support from the likes of Alesso, Green Velvet, Roger Sanchez, and Gorgon City. While it’s clear that Chapter & Verse is a fan in the eyes of professionals, but at the same time he’s been cultivating a loyal community rallying around his music, amassing almost 750K monthly streams on Spotify!
“I wanted to create a track which incorporates old-school rave along with modern-day tech house. I found and modified an old rave stab to create the sound heard throughout the 90s. I added a vintage Chapter & Verse bassline, an old-school vocal and ‘Ready For The Rave‘ was born” – Chapter & Verse
When it comes the regional styles of classic underground EDM, we have a special place in our heart for the UK. While we do often gravitate more towards The Netherlands (those Dutch sure know how to make EDM), UK producers capture a sense of grittiness that other regions like. Chapter & Verse succeeds in snagging this grittiness in “Ready For The Rave”, which is a track overflowing with classic UK Garage energy. We feel as if we’ve been ripped out of our slightly decrepit office in 2022 and thrown directly into a late 90s early 2000s rave, where we can truly let go and just lose our minds. This is our first introduction to Chapter & Verse, but we can already tell it won’t be our last. We’re “Ready For The Rave”, and ready for everything else that comes after.
