The Electric Witch Rises! Bass Producer Redrum Teases Upcoming EP With Surreal Single “Phases”
While we can see Stephen King inspiring filmmakers and authors, but musicians were definitely not on our minds. On our latest visit over to SSKWAN we are checking out “Phases”, the label debut of Redrum. Created by Portland producer Titiana Tindall, Redrum is a new ethereal music project inspired by the works of Stephen King. Originally finding her love of music in the realm of dance, it wasn’t until she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 17 that the Redrum began bubbling under the surface. Absorbing creative energy from King’s concept around “The Shining”, Redrum became an electric bass witch and has been cultivating a new collection of surreal bass music for the masses. Redrum is quickly blossoming in the bass music world, gaining plenty of buzz from features in Electric Hawk’s Harmony Virtual Music Festival and In Unity Livestream, WormholeEntertainment’s weekly Wormhole Wednesday, and Nova LotusMusic’s NovaVita live streams.
“The process of writing Phases was about becoming comfortable with change and finding peace with the fact that nothing is permanent. The title draws inspiration from going through the process of accepting and finding beauty in the many phases of life and channeling that into this piece was very cathartic for me.” – Redrum
After plenty of teasing from Liquid Stranger’s SSKWAN’s social media earlier this year, brand new Redrum music is finally here. In preparation for her highly anticipated upcoming EP, Redrum brings her latest single “Phases” with her as she splashes into the SSKWAN label. Leaning heavily into the darker and ethereal side of bass music, “Phases” serves as a showcase of Redrum’s ability to craft a vibrant world within her bass music web. “Phases” as a whole track feels alive and only a talented maestro like Redrum could serve as its creator. While it is clear that Redrum has plenty of talent just waiting to break free, she is still early on in her career and has plenty of room to expand her skills and break any boundaries that lie in her way.
