Temmpo Kicks Off New Project With Dance Pop Cover of Lewis Capaldi’s “Before You Go”
Tonino, known professionally as Temmpo, is a prolific Australian producer and artist making waves in the global music scene. Based between Bergen, Amsterdam, and London, he boasts a diverse skill set as a writer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer. His career highlights include co-writing and performing on Afrojack’s hit single “Anywhere With You,” which led to prominent festival appearances alongside Afrojack at Tomorrowland and Ultra in 2023.
Temmpo has collaborated extensively with a wide array of artists such as Telykast, Teddy Swims, Sam Feldt, Martin Jensen, and many more, showcasing his versatility across different musical genres. Recently signing with Afrojack’s “Wall Recordings,” in collaboration with Universal Music, Temmpo is set to release his debut EP in 2024. With over 100 releases under his belt and a cumulative total of more than 500 million streams, Temmpo continues to push boundaries and carve out a significant presence in electronic music, promising exciting future collaborations and musical innovations.
“I have always loved reworking classic songs and find it both fun and challenging to reimagine classic works. These new releases were always some of my favourites so I drew inspiration from my love of the original versions to see how far I could take them into a new direction.”
Temmpo has embarked on a creative journey of transforming classic songs into dynamic dance-pop hits. Notably, his rework of Lewis Capaldi’s emotive track “Before You Go” stands out as a testament to his innovative approach. The remix injects an energetic and nostalgic vibe into the song, characterized by lively synths and infectious beats that compel listeners to dance. Tonino’s hands-on production style is evident, overseeing the entire process and enlisting his wife Frida Amundsen (Bad Lucy) to deliver vocals initially sung at a slower pace before transforming them into upbeat, contemporary dance renditions. This meticulous approach not only revitalizes the originals but also introduces them to a new audience with a modern, commercial edge.
