Seether Drops New “Wasteland” Music Video, New 20 Year Compilation Album + Exclusive Livestream With Moment House
Msn, talk about a blast from the past. On our latest peek into the rock world we are heading on over to Craft Recordings and checking out “Wasteland”, the newest single from South African rock band Seether. You know, there aren’t many groups/artists that we cover on Modern Neon that we know you should recognize, but today’s band is definitely one. Forming in Pretoria, South Africa all the way back in 1999, Seether quickly rose to prominence as one of the most influential rock groups throughout the 2000s. Just one look at their numbers says it all: three platinum and two gold albums, 17 #1 singles, 21 Top 5 multi-format hits, single sales topping 17 million, and over 2 billion streams worldwide. The band released their eighth album in 2020, Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum (If You Want Peace, Prepare for War), and is widely considered one of their greater releases featuring a handful of their best singles. If you had any doubt that after their storied career Seether had grown stale, this talented band continues to thrive in the 2021 rock music landscape.

While we don’t normally dabble in the more mainstream rock world (there are plenty of other sites for that), when we were contacted for this drop we couldn’t help but be insanely excited. The latest single to come out of the Seether camp, “Wasteland” is actually the lead single form the band’s brand new EP Wasteland – The Purgatory. “Wasteland” is a superb rock track to screams the Seether fundamentals, proving that these rockers still fit and have a place in the modern rock world. The single is actually just one piece of a larger pie, with Seether also announcing the release of a brand new compilation album and an exclusive livestream! The album, known as Vicennial – 2 Decades of Seether, will be released on Oct 15th and will feature all of Seether’s best-selling singles over the last twenty years. The exclusive livestream will be in partnership with Moment House, which will feature a ten-track set voted on by the audience as well as virtual meet and greets as well as QAs.
