Protocol Veteran Deniz Koyu Drops Necessary Uplifting Single “Next To You”
While many producers are out there making summer anthems or tracks primed for the club, there are a few out there that just want to make uplifting music. On our most recent visit to Protocol we were teased with “Next To You”, the latest single from maestro Deniz Koyu. A veteran in the world of progressive and electro house, Koyu has been rather busy leading these genres and molding them into their modern iterations. With massive hits such as “Tung!”, “Bong”, and the house indie pop fusion that ended up as “Paradise”, Koyu is determined to assist these genres in growing back to their peak. Koyu has been diligently at work with KO:YU, releasing a few high profile remixes for The Chainsmokers and Alesso. We may not have many moments to just let Deniz take the stage, but he always adds a solid contribution to every track he collaborates in.
In a time where the world is taking a collective breath, even if just for a moment, we need all of the positivity that we can grasp. We have been following Deniz for quite some time now and can often plug in one of his tracks when we need a quick ray of sunshine. This doesn’t stop in his latest track, as “Next To You” tells us a sincere story about summer love in a breezy and soft style. The track is groovy, upbeat, and oozes with so much positive energy that we need to absorb our dose before it dries up. “Next To You” is actually part 1 of a 2 part series, each told with a similar style and theme.
