Nicky Romero Joins Universal for Full “Nights With You” EP, Festival and Harrison Mix!
Even though he is well known to be the label boss of Protocol Recordings, but even Romero can’t be pigeonholed into one partnership. On our latest check-in with Nicky Romero we were able to check out his new Nights With You EP, the latest drop from his partnership with Universal. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament!
Just because you are the leader of an outstanding label, doesn’t mean that you can’t reach out and have your own partnerships across the board. While we were able to check out Romero’s original single “Nights With You” previously, this brand new EP includes both a “Festival Mix” and a remix from the fantastic artist Harrison. Each version takes the original track and tweaks the production further, each exploring a deeper side of dance music. Romero’s festival mix explores his well-known progressive house sound, begging to be played on the main stage once stages return. However, Harrison’s version explores a darker and more cinematic variant, almost creating a more sinister underlying tone.
