MR.BLACK and Teamworx Team Up For Melodic “We Are Lost” From The Protocol Lab
While we may have been busy getting lost among the label boss releases, we have to look deeper into the roster to give these artists the same attention. On our last visit to Protocol we checked out “We Are Lost”, a brand new track from MR.BLACK and Teamworx. A staple in the Protocol roster, Teamworx has been making waves since joining the label last year. By far one of the most bass-heavy tracks on Protocol, “Trap Like” is going to ride that wave of success created by Teamworx last two releases. They were able to earn over 1 million streams on Spotify with “Champion Sound” with Nicky Romero and have cemented their staying power with their Sunstars collaboration “Playin Around“.
On the other side of the coin we have MR.BLACK also thriving in the Protocol lab. Most well known for this original track “Boomshakalaka” and remix of Tiesto’s “Boom”, MR.BLACK has been making quite a name for himself over on his home label Revealed Recordings. Under the wing of label boss Hardwell, MR.BLACk has amassed over 3 million streams and reached Number 1 on Beatport’s charts twice.
We have always been intrigued by what comes out of the Protocol camp, and we are hardly disappointed. With Teamworx attached to this product, we knew that we wouldn’t shelf this one after listening to it just once. Even if this is the official Protocol debut of MR.BLACK, Protocol knows when to throw in the veterans for assistance. “We Are Lost” is melodic and progressive in nature, easily being an emotional audible experience when blasted through your headphones. The bassline adds plenty of groove, while the vocals craft a soft and almost surreal moment of sincerity. We have no doubt that “We Are Lost” will be infesting our Spotify playlists and traditional radio in no time.
