Mahmut Orhan & Francis Mercier Trace a Deeper Groove on “Get Down”
This summer marked a major stretch for Mahmut Orhan, who played more than 50 dates across 20 countries while returning to Chinois Ibiza for the second edition of his Sounds Like Pillowtalk residency. The season also brought him back together with Francis, who launched his own Solèy residency at Hï Ibiza and welcomed Orhan for a special B2B set on September 28. Orhan’s momentum continues into Amsterdam Dance Event, where he will co-curate Mahmut Orhan & Friends x Loveland on October 23.
Away from the touring circuit, Orhan has been working on his third studio album, which is set to introduce the next phase of his sound. New single “Get Down” offers an early preview of that direction, connecting the energy of his recent club and festival run with the broader musical world he is currently building.
Mahmut Orhan and Francis Mercier reunite on “Get Down,” a club-focused collaboration driven by a low-slung groove, rolling bass and a sultry vocal refrain. Following their previous track “Sadete,” the pair keep the production lean and hypnotic, using repetition, subtle melodic details and carefully controlled tension to create a track that feels built for late-night dancefloors. Rather than relying on oversized drops, “Get Down” builds its impact through space, rhythm and atmosphere, landing somewhere between deep house, Afro-house and groove-led club music.
The release also reflects the natural chemistry Orhan and Mercier have developed both in and outside the studio. In 2025, they teamed up for a sunrise B2B at Burning Man’s Long Feng Art Car, moving through house, deep house, tribal and Afro-house sounds as Black Rock City came to life around them. “Get Down” channels that same shared instinct for movement and progression, translating the energy of their live sets into a focused, sensual studio cut rooted firmly in the club.
