Ginesse Drops New Video Game Inspired Music Video For 2021 Single “Gatorade”
When you have a bit of an absurd single, you do need to follow up with an equally oddball music video. On our latest dive into the indie world we are checking out a brand new music video for “Gatorade” by Ginesse. Formed as a unique musical project from actress Cait Fairbanks, Ginesse is the result of a brilliant actor playing the role of a musician along with music that speaks to the soul. While Ginesse is making her own waves, Cait Fairbanks has already made her own splash in the acting world. From an Emmy-nominated role on the Young and the Restless to her performance as Veronica on Heather: The Musical, the brains behind Ginesse easily proves she has the necessary chops. While Ginesse was only founded back in 2018, the project already has the attention of PAPER, NYLON, and Billboard.

Ginesse has been an interesting act to follow from her debut EP back in 2020 to her latest single setting the stage for the rest of 2021. Originally released back on Jun. 4th, “Gatorade” is an intriguing glitch pop number that shows Ginesse exploring new avenues for her music to travel down in 2021 and 2022. It only took a month, but “Gatorade” finally has an equally odd music video, directed by Christina Bryson. The video opens with a choose your own adventure overlay, playing with the idea that Ginesse is a character is this musical project she has created to run wild in. The overlay falls away to a more video game-inspired background, letting all of the focus transfer to Ginesse’s playfully sultry performance. “The overall theme was just for it to be fun,” Ginesse says. “I wanted everyone to feel like they’re joining a video game.” What else will we see from Ginesse in 2021? Only time will tell.
