Ever Enigmatic Cityzen Drops Bouncy "Unicorns On A Rocket Launcher", With An Odd Lack of Unicorns
The more and more coverage we provide for this artist, the more we desperately want to snag a glimpse into the electric future of music. Beginning the journey we are stopping off at R3HAB’s CYB3RPVNK for a dark house track “Unicorns on a Rocket Launcher’ from the enigmatic Cityzen. A brand new project coming from the minds behind the CYB3RPVNK movement, Cityzen is a time-manipulating enigma that can exist in both the past and the future without any clear reason why. Cityzen is definitely a peculiar project, as his affinity for the color red when paired with his unique glasses create a rather odd image. However, Cityzen’s drive to blend futuristic beats and classic underground sounds will only further cloud his image and style.
The more we listen to Cityzen’s tracks, the more we are starting to believe that they have mastered time travel and just keeps bring music back from the future. First off, we are absolutely in love by the title, as “Unicorns On A Rocket Launcher” is weird enough to fit in with the Cityzen thematic approach. While it may be less futuristic in comparison to previous tracks “Sirius” and “Rave Tech Repeat”, this track has no problem fitting into the Cityzen wheelhouse. The track is bouncy with a bassline that doesn’t cede control and drives the track forward. Intriguing enough, “Unicorns On A Rocket Launcher” derives from a few doses of UK-garage and g-house with a minor vocal riff to package everything up. By far their most festival-ready track yet, we won’t be surprised if we hear “Unicorns On A Rocket Launcher” at our next big festival.
