BONNIE x CLYDE Showcase Their Hip-Hop Love in New Track “Curse”
Now this one is a blast from our MiR past. Taking a beat over at Ultra Records we have the return of BONNIE X CLYDE and their new track “Curse”. First coming onto our radar back in 2017 for their release “Torn“, BxC has taken a beat for a hot minute in between productions. Officially returning with their end of the year 2019 tour, BxC is ready to bring back their dynamic duo to the masses. Between Bonnie’s eclectically beautiful vocals and Clyde’s excellent skills in the studio create a powerful force. BxC continues to surprise us each time they perform on stage and craft a surreal live experience.
“Inspiration for this song sonically came from our background of loving hip hop, rock, and electronic music. Heavy guitar riffs, lots of bass, lots of vocal chops/vocal manipulation. It was also inspired by the thriller movies we love to watch. We envisioned a girl in the backseat of a car while a man drives up to the top of a look out point with the moon bright over a 50s style car but things go wrong when the man turns evil and the girl falls victim. She’s looking through the rearview mirror, back at herself wondering if being in this position is worth all of the emotions she is going through. The song is a journey of becoming aware of the energy you want to have around you. It’s dark but uplifting, and intense but sultry.” – BONNIE X CLYDE
This time around BxC put their hip-hop influences and love out on display for the world to access. “Curse” is an interesting track to add to the BxC catalog, showcasing a solid combination of heavy guitar riffs and plenty of bass for the basshead community. The track’s atmosphere chills us to the bones, only enhanced by Bonnie’s haunting vocal performance and the moody bass undertone that gives us an uneasy feeling. Throughout “Curse” we learn of a weaving yet thrilling story that adds to the already anxious and uneasy themes littered in the production’s effects. Bonnie x Clyde are primed to give you a haunting audible experience while they play within their new style.
