Alt-pop Artist Caroline Romano Drops Two Flip Side Singles, “Oddities and Prodigies” + “Lonely Interlude”
As the world of alt-pop grows, more and more artists are figuring out the formula to make their sound heard. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out a dual song drop, “Oddities and Prodigies” and “Lonely Interlude”, the latest from Caroline Romano. A self-proclaimed “loudest sort of introvert“, at a meager 19 years old Caroline has written her way into the alt-pop movement of this generation. Since dropping her initial single back in 2017, she already has a handful of singles under her belt and has racked up over a million streams online. This single follows her previously released “PDA of the Mainstream”, which marked her transition from indie bedroom pop over to the alternative pop-punk scene. We aren’t the only ones taking notice, as Caroline’s quick rise in the alt-pop world has garnered support from tastemakers like Hollywood Life, American Songwriter, and Just Jared.

It isn’t often that we have just a dual drop from an artist, so let’s compare and contrast. While we are still newcomers to the Romano fan camp, we already appreciate the fact that she is bringing back the concept of an A-Side and B-Side. Both rather distinctly different tracks, Each single showcases a different facet of Romano’s personality as a musican. “Oddities and Prodigies” is a much more uplifting and postive song, utilizing an alt-rock approach to explore the joy and excitement of living a fulfilled life, while still serving as only the opening chapter of Romano’s story. Jumping to the B-side, “Lonely Interlude” is a much more melancholic single, trading the upbeat productions for soft acoustics and allowing the listener to experience the more fragile side of Romano with her as she expresses her feelings and loneliness. Two sides of the same coin, Romano is quickly becoming a talented and intriuging musician to keep tabs on.
