WWE Elimination Chamber 2014- Who Will Face Batista at Wrestlemania?

Hello everybody and welcome to my first review of a WWE PPV (Pay Per View). Tonight we make our last stop on the Road to Wrestlemania, and we stop at The Elimination Chamber! One of my personal favorite PPV’s, and I am extremely excited for the event! Now I’m hoping I can do this review justice since I am going to be watching this show on my laptop, and trust me when I say my laptop sucks! and the show sometimes freeze and becomes un-watchable, but I’m going to do my best, so without further to do, let’s start with the Pre-Show!

Pre Show

Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Rybaxel (Curtis Axel & Ryback) w/ Larry “The Ax” Henning

What a wonderful surprise it was to see the legendary Larry “The Ax” Henning accompany Ryback and his grandson Curtis Axel! I hope to see him a lot more! This was a great match back and forth action between these two teams that saw many cool spots! At times it did get a little sloppy, but  they held it together! The match ended when Cody Rhodes revered Curtis Axel’s neckbreaker into a Cross Rhodes!

Winner- Cody Rhodes & Goldust

Rating- 7\10: This was a missed opportunity if you ask me. I was honestly expecting to see some confusion between the Rhodes brothers, hinting towards the rumored match at Wrestlemania 30, but it looks like Goldust was telling the truth when he said there would be no math between him and his brother! but I still think it was a missed opportunity. We all wanna see The Rhodes face of at Mania and it is still possible, but Ryback and Axel should of picked up the victory here! It would of led to a possible split and match between The Rhodes Brothers, but with Larry “The Ax” Henning in the corner, it could of turned things around for Rybaxel!

2014 Elimination Chamber!

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter vs. Big E (c)

We open up the night we the Intercontinental title on the line. This rivalry has been pretty entertaining given how late it started. This could be Zeb’s night, both Jack and Cesaro can walk away with Championship gold! The match itself was honestly very entertaining. A very hard hitting battle between these two that saw Big E spear Swagger into the steel steps and even through the ring ropes. Swagger of course dished out his own beating and even looked like he was going to win when he locked in The Patriot Lock, but Big E found a way out and hit The Big Ending for the three count to retain his Intercontinental Championship. Zeb’s night did not start of well!

Winner and Still Intercontinental Champion- Big E (c)

Rating- 7\10:

WWE Tag Team Championship Match

The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Usu) vs. The New Ago Outlaws (c) (Road Dogg Jesse James & Bad Ass Billy Gunn)

Two Championship matches in a row! Next up The Tag Titles are on the line as The Young Usos takes on The Veteran Team of The New Ago Outlaws. This was a match I would prefer to see at Mania, I really thought we were going to see The Rhodes challenge The Outlaws again, but I’m glad we got this match. The Usos took the early advantage, until Road Dogg caused an early injury to one of The Usos (Sorry I can’t really tell them apart when there in the ring), and than the matched turned into the favor of The Champs! The action slowed down at this point, but The Outlaws kept it interesting which is good since recently they have gotten a bad rep for slowing a match down! The Usos got the how tag and it all turned into their favor as The Uninjured Uso took on both Outlaws practically! The match ended when Billy Gunn missed a Big Boot and The Uninjured Uso hit Road Dogg with a super kick just to get rolled up into a pi by Billy Gunn for the three!

Winners and Still Tag Team Champions- The New Age Outlaws (c)

Rating- 7\10: I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit worried about this match! Lately The Outlaws have honestly brought down the Tag Titles and the match they have been in, but tonight they put all that in the past, and pulled off a great match with The Usos tonight. I’m honestly not sure where we go from here though, do we see The Usos get a rematch at Mania, or will another Team challenge The Outlaws at Wrestlemania 30!

Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil

We saw the split of The Prime Time Players a couple weeks ago, and despite the rivalry not getting much TV time, it still managed to be entertaining with the little time we had. The match itself was decent. Nothing to memorable happened here, but the former tag partners put on a good match. Titus picked up the victory by hitting The Fall of Titus for the three count

Winner- Titus O’Neil

Rating- 6\10: There was no real question about who was going to win here. Titus has been praised by the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) and he is the one who looks to be getting the push. Darren’s mission tonight was to look good while losing. Did he do it? Kind of, this match did not blow me away, but it kept me entertained. I wish I had good things to say for Darren Young’s future, but honestly its not looking to bright. On the other hand Titus looks destined for at least a mid card role, and maybe even a future world championship!

The Shield (Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose (c) & Seth Rollins) vs. The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper & Eric Rowan)

Oh man, this is the most anticipated match on the card tonight! Both The Shield and The Wyatt’s have been built as an indestructible force, and tonight they face off. The build up has been amazing! and the match will definitely be a choice for match of the year for 2014! We saw each member of The Shield take on every single member of The Wyatts! We saw numerous huge spots, We saw how aggressive Dean Ambrose can be, and how quick Seth Rollins is proving that Roman Reigns is not the only star of the group! We also got to see a more aggressive side of The Wyatts here tonight! Once we got towards the end we saw the match really pick up! We saw Ambrose and Wyatt battle through the crowd, Rowan and Reigns battle in the ring and Rollins and Harper on the outside. Bray came back through the crowd leaving Ambrose behind? Honestly we don’t know what happened to Ambrose because we never saw what Wyatt did to him, than we saw both Harper and Rowan get up on top of the announce table with Seth Rollins to double choke slam him through the Spanish announce table, and all that was left was Roman Reigns. Reigns fought back and even looked like he was going to win it for his team, but Luke Harper took the spear from Reigns, giving Wyatt the perfect chance to hit Reigns with Sister Abigail.

Winner- The Wyatt Family

Rating- 9\10: They stole the show here tonight, best match on the card! Back and forth action between these two teams. I’m still wondering what happened to Ambrose since we never really saw, but The Wyatts prove to be dominant, as not only did they defeat The Shield, but Bray pinned the unstoppable Roman Reigns! and now that we head to Wrestlemania its unclear whether The Shield will be wrestling at Wrestlemania as a team or against each other, but its guaranteed that The Wyatts will go into Mania not as a team, but a Family!

WWE Divas Championship

Cameron vs. Aj Lee (c) w/ Tamina Snuka

A sad little confession, I actually didn’t get to catch this match. I only saw bits an pieces as I was to distracted with my charger not charging (I gotta get a new one) and of course my internet decided to act up, but from what I did see..it wasn’t impressive. Cameron gets the win by Disqualification after Tamina kicks her, thus making sure Aj holds onto the title!

Winner- Cameron By DQ Still Divas Champion Aj Lee

Rating- N/A: I can’t really rate a match I didn’t watch, but I’m sure I didn’t miss out on anything…I mean its Cameron wrestling!

Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio at first seemed like he was trying to weasel his way out of this match, as he came down to the ring in his warm ups with a neck brace on and one crutch. He proceeded to explain that because of Batista’s attack on him, he is unable to compete…and than he hits Batista with the crutch. This goes on for a couple minutes, until the ref finally separates the two and Batista tells the ref he wants to go on, and than we are forced to sit through watching Del Rio beat down on Batista, and we are forced to listen to a disrespectful crowd just to witness Batista come back and hit the Batista Bomb for the three count!

Winner- Batista

Rating- 4\10: This match was just bad. We watched Del Rio just beat up on Batista for the majority of the match, but what ruined this for me was the crowd. I don’t want to go on to much of a tangent here but when a crowd disrespects the wrestlers it pisses me off! I understand that the WWE Universe does not like Batista, but to chant the stupidest things in the match just gets me. I don’t mind hearing the fans chant for Daniel Bryan, but what gets me when I hear chants for C M Punk, Jericho and RVD! None of those men work there Punk still does, but it is expected for him to just leave once his contract is up, but to me that is just disrespectful to chant for someone who does not even work there just because you don’t like another man. This match was just awful!

Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

John Cena vs. Christian vs. Randy Orton (c) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro vs. Sheamus

and now it is time for our main event! Cena, Christian, Orton (c), and Bryan started off in the Pods while Cesaro and Sheamus started of the match. We saw these two duke it out with some hard hits that makes me wanna see a feud between these two sooner, rather than later! The first person out was Daniel Bryan, but to me personally I felt Bryan slowed the match down when he first came out. I was expecting Bryan to make the match more interesting, but I was really enjoying the brawl between Cesaro and Sheamus! Out next was Christian, and still the match just wasn’t entertaining to me even though four men were in! Out next we had Cena and at this point the match got pretty sloppy, and finally out comes Orton (c) and this is where the match caught my interest. It was funny to see Orton cower in the corner while Bryan, Cena and Sheamus stared him down, it was even more funny to see Orton cower back into his pod. Everyone gave up on trying to get the Champion except for Sheamus! Sheamus stood there and watch Orton mock him until he put his boot through the pod to hit Orton (c) with the Brogue Kick! After that happened the match once again became pretty sloppy and uninteresting and it took Sheamus attempted to Ultraplex Christian off the top of the pod for the match to become interesting again, but Orton prevented it and Superplexed Sheamus off the top turnbuckle witch led to Christian diving off the top of the pod to splash down on Sheamus to pick up our first elimination!

Christian Eliminates Sheamus by Pinfall

It wasn’t long after Sheamus’s elimination to see our second one, as Bryan ran up and hit Captain Charisma with the Flying Knee to pick up our second elimination!

Daniel Bryan Eliminates Christian by Pinfall

After that elimination that match once again slowed down, we saw Cesaro take control for a little while, up until Cena got him up on his shoulders and gave him The Attitude Adjustment to the outside grating and than pulled him back in to lock in The STF to force Cesaro to tap out!

John Cena Eliminates Cesaro by Submission

and then there were three, and it appeared like Orton was screwed and that we were gonna end the night with Bryan and Cena battling over the title, but The Wyatts had different plans, as the lights went out and there they were inside the chamber and they went directly after John Cena beating him up just enough for Orton to slide in a eliminate The Leader of the C Nation!

Randy Orton Eliminates John Cena by Pinfall

and there were two, Kane came down to the ring and got rid of The Wyatts, and than went into the ring to check on Cena, but Bryan jumped right into Kane and hit him with a knee,  but he took his eyes off of Orton and got hit with an RKO. Orton covered for the pin but Bryan kicked out, and the WWE Universe got any there feet and all started chanting “YES! YES! YES” but Kane socked him right in the jaw and Orton hit yet another RKO to retain his championship!

Winner and still WWE World Heavyweight Champion- Randy Orton

Rating- 6\10: This has to be the worst Chamber match I have ever watched. There went many highlights, and majority of the highlights were in the beginning! Bryan seemed off his game tonight, I really wanted and expected to see a lot more from Cesaro and it just didn’t feel like a Chamber match. We now know for sure Batista will challenge Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania 30, its pretty much a guarantee that Bray Wyatt will face Cena, it seem like Bryan will go on to face Kane or HHH, but as for Cesaro, Christian and Sheamus I have no prediction for what there Wrestlemania is going to look like.

Superstar of the Night- Bray Wyatt

Tonight was The Wyatt Family’s night! Not only did they defeat The Shield, but they made their presence known inside The Chamber! and even though as a Unit the Wyatt Family shined, Bray shined the brightest of the all. Not only did he pick up the win for his family, but he pinned Roman Reigns who has been so unstoppable a of late and then just to add more of a exclamation point to his night he cost John Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and now it appears he is heading for the biggest match of his career at Wrestlemania against Cena himself. A huge night for the man formerly known as Husky Hairs!
