Nicky Romero Throws It Back to His Melodic Progressive House Roots with “Stay A Little Longer” With DubVision and Philip Strand.
While some producers have a hot single that launches them to tthe stratosphere, it’s more thrilling to have multiple singles hit hard back to back. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “Stay A Little Longer”, the latest from Nicky Romero and DubVision and Philip Strand. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament. Romero’s list of accomplishments keeps growing, now including a brand new partnership with Fader Pro and a release of his own NFT collection!
While we constantly plead and applaud with producers and artists are are aiming to break free from their comfort zone, we are totally okay with propping the door open for nostalgia’s sake…hey, we’re millenials. Romero has been absolutely on fire lately with his previous releases with Third Party and Afrojack, so why not make this steak a trifecta? With “Stay A Little Longer” being the latest addition to the Romero catalog, fans and listeneres are treated to an intriguing collaboration with DubVision and Swedish songwriter Philip Strand. Exploring the longing feelings left after a passionate couple goes their separate ways, this track is a return to form for Romero…marking this as a journey to the progressive house fundamentals that skyrocketed him to the spotlight in the first place. The track’s main stage euphoria feeling is one that is hard to beat, even after years of experiencing that main stage moment for ourselves.
