Alright CONTROVERSIA, on what journey are you guiding us this week? On our latest visit to CONTROVERSIA we are checking out “Divide Us”, the latest drop from ÜHÜ and RUSHÖ. Created by producer Gabriel Murillo Mello, ÜHÜ is the latest project to come out from this post-pandemic world. With over ten years of DJing/producing under his belt, Gabriel is a major force to be reckoned with down in the Brazilian dance scene, amassing over 1 billion streams over the course of his career. Not only has he performed at major festivals such as Tomorrowland Brasil, EDC Brasil, Green Valley, Dream Valley, PUMP, and the Rio Music Conference, but he’s also gained support from the likes of David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alok, Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Hardwell, Showtek, and many others. Even though he’s already an accomplished musician, Gabriel crafted this new startup up persona so he can dive deep into the world of house music from scratch as ÜHÜ.
While we are completely on board we exploring what CONTROVERSIA drops every single week, it was ÜHÜ who finally convinced us to pull the trigger. Now that ÜHÜ has returned to the label, you know 1000% that we had to check out what he and RUSHÖ brought to the table. Being the latest addition to the Brazilian dance maestro’s catalog, “Divide Us” is a darker interpretation of the progressive house gems we know from other labels. Primed and ready to play on repeat in sweaty nightclubs south of the equator, this track balances cinematic and ominous tonals with groovy melodies that aid in giving the track a bit more of a runway. “Divide Us” serves as more of a melding of genres instead of a division, showcasing both elements of progressive and underground house ebbing and flowing together. Tracks like this from ÜHÜ and RUSHÖ are why we keep coming back CONTROVERSIA.
