After being teased with single after single for the last month, (someone took notes from Snails) it is finally here. Starting off the weekend we have the perplexing yet brutal new FLESH EP from PIERCE. After bursting onto the scene after graduating in 2015, PIERCE received training and feedback from many powerhouses in the modern music industry. With two releases already under his belt, one with Spinnin’ Records and the other with Insomnia Records, Will he be able to combine his storytelling elements with dubstep? We have faith.
Now first off, if you haven’t taken a spell to listen to PIERCE’s FLESH EP, you definitely need to now. What makes the FLESH EP unique, is it actually tells a story all throughout the EP, blatantly telling the story of PIERCE’s capture, abuse, and escape at the clutches of evil-doers. While this was a trend in the 70s and 80s, we haven’t seen this amount of storytelling in an EP in a while. Plus, PIERCE’s bone-chilling style is perfect for creating a sense of fear and worry for PIERCE as we traverse for each track. The entire FLESH EP is an assault on the senses with its impressive soundscape of stabbing and threatening synth work with the right amount of bass. Well done PIERCE!
