Take a Beat to Slow Down With “Sideways” From Jack Trades & Kayrae
After so much bass music and grime the last few days, we need to take a moment to just chill out. Stopping back by Physical Presents once more we have “Sideways”, a brand new track from Jack Trades and Kayrae. Making is official splash back in 2017, Jack Trades crafted a niche for himself within the chill dance-pop genre much like Kygo. While you need to be in the zone or a specific mood for a lot of high-paced EDM, Trades created a brand of easy-listening yet addictive music that is prime for any time. Since 2017, Trades has been jumping around and dropping releases with Thrive and Armada, as well as a few official remixes for Dropgun and Adam K & Soha.
“Sideways to me is a very special song because Kayrae and I wanted to write something real and relatable in relationships. We all deserve to be happy, and it is important to recognize that and how we should truly learn to let go, if required. The lyrics of the song truly touches on what one is really going through inside but having a hard time expressing it.” – Jack Trades
“This song comes to me from personal experience where I have been in a bad relationship, stuck, not knowing where to go and hoping that one day it will all work out. It was easy during the writing process because everything just flowed and came very naturally.” – Kayrae
We definitely have to admit, we need more chill in our lives. The genre as a whole is easy to listen to and calls us down to re-center. Jack Trades and Kayrae pour their souls, in their respective ways, into each note as the track passes by. Based on feelings from both Trades and Kayrae’s past relationships, “Sideways” can easily become your “getting over it” anthem. “Sideways” takes its chill house beats and crossovers with a Kayrae’s breezy pop vocals to result in a beautiful infusion of chill pop. We will definitely be adding “Sideways” to all of our playlists, even if to just give us a break from our hectic lives.
