<Insert pun about SLANDER(ing) here>. Setting ablaze to our Saturday night we have “Happy Now”, the latest monster from SLANDER over on Monstercat. SLANDER has been very busy since bursting onto the scene in 2014 (with their ever-popular Showtek remix), but throughout 2017 and 18 we are expected to see numerous original productions and a further grounding of their “heaven trap” style. If these two keep this up, they may be one of our favorite artists of 2018. Will it be their year?
While SLANDER has become rather synonymous with their hard “heaven trap” style of bass music, the duo decided to take “Happy Now” in a different direction and show us their sensitive side. The track serves as a delightful yet nostalgic ode to the high times in that one broken relationship each one of us has had. SLANDER compliments this ode with utterly cinematic basslines that are going to slay listeners all around the world. Need a bit of icing on the cake? “Happy Now” is rounded out with a light and airy melody that wraps everything up with a nice little bow.
