Does a change of scenery change the way you act in the studio? Let’s find out. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “Insincere”, the latest single from Ali Bakgor, Vessbroz, and J.O.Y. Bakgor first burst out onto the scene with his official remix of “Say What You Wanna” for Tujamo, picking up steam quickly and leading to official releases “Dark Side,” “Over U,” and “Wait No More” under the record label FRQNCY. After an initial selection of singles, Bakgor quickly gained the support of many trendsetting producers including Tiësto, EDX, Don Diablo, Martin Garrix, and Sam Feldt. While this was a promising start, since then Bakgor has released singles on Spinnin’, Sony, UMG, One7, Soave, and Madworks, as well as having his tracks listed on over 3,000 playlists.
Even though Bakgor originally popped up on our radar over on Purple Fly, a change of venue is often great for artists as they can pull different experiences from different surroundings. Now kicking it over at Protocol, Bakgor is back at it again with “Insincere” a captivating progressive house single that fits perfectly into the Protocol formula we know and love. Setting a more cinematic tone right out of the gate, Bakgor enhances the tone with cinematic melodies that just continue to build the track’s overall aesthetic. While fundamentally “Insincere” could have just been yet another progressive house number, the combined skillsets of Bakgor and Vessbroz take the production up a number of pegs. For the cherry on top, J.O.Y’s vocal performance is equally captivating and cinematic, putting the final puzzle piece together to transform “Insincere” into its final form.
