Shantaia Releases Soulful New Single “Find Out” Ahead of Forthcoming Album ‘One Trick Pony’
Nashville-based Canadian artist Shantaia returns with “Find Out,” the latest preview of her forthcoming eight-track album, One Trick Pony, out October 16. Blending country, soul and blues, the slow-burning track captures the moment when obvious chemistry finally outweighs hesitation, with the hook “Let’s mess around and find out” turning that tension into a confident, playful invitation. The song also gives Shantaia room to lean further into the soulful and blues-driven side of her voice while keeping her country foundation intact.
Produced by Curt Chambers, Brad Hill and Shantaia, One Trick Pony is designed as a gradual expansion of her sound, beginning in familiar country and country-soul territory before moving deeper into soul, R&B and blues. Following “Risk You Run,” which begins that transition, “Find Out” pushes it further with a more sensual, self-assured energy and offers another glimpse at the broader range Shantaia is bringing to the album.
“‘Find Out’ is about that moment when the chemistry is obvious and you decide to stop talking yourself out of it,” says Shantaia. “There’s a confidence and playfulness to this song that I love, and it gave me the space to lean further into the soul and blues influences that feel so natural to my voice. It’s a side of me I was so excited to bring forward on this album.”
Shantaia’s latest release arrives amid a breakout year that has seen her named to Spotify’s 2026 Fresh Finds Forward class, gain more than 80,000 followers, and generate over 25 million social impressions. Much of that momentum has come from her viral cover series with her horse, Dally, which has drawn attention from artists including Shania Twain, Julia Michaels, Kelsea Ballerini and French Fuse. The release also follows appearances at Country Music Week in Saskatoon, where she performed during the CCMA Songwriters Series and at CCMA House.
With nearly 10 million cumulative streams, Shantaia is also a five-time Saskatchewan Country Music Award winner whose résumé includes support dates with Kane Brown and the Hunter Brothers, as well as an appearance alongside John Mayer. Earlier this summer, she was named runner-up in the 2026 SoFi Amplify Your Ambitions Contest, further adding to a growing list of career milestones.
