Rocktronic Pioneer Micah Martin Continues His Debut Album Rollout with Nostalgic New Single “VHS,” Reveals the Album’s Tracklist

Micah Martin has built a career at the intersection of rock, metal, and electronic bass music. After forming The Zealots in the Quad Cities in 2014 and touring with acts including I Prevail, Memphis May Fire, Pop Evil, Theory of a Deadman, and Drowning Pool, he shifted deeper into electronic music following the band’s end in 2020. His powerful, rock-honed vocals have since appeared on collaborations with SLANDER, Zomboy, Kayzo, PhaseOne, Rebelion, and Sub Zero Project, carrying him to stages including Red Rocks, The Gorge, EDC Las Vegas, and Lost Lands. He also serves as a daily host on Insomniac Radio, anchoring IMPACT and BASSRUSH Radio, while steadily building his own career behind the decks.

After learning to DJ in 2024, Martin began performing alongside artists including RIOT and yetep, with appearances at Escapade Music Festival and a recent headline NYC debut at Brooklyn Meadows. His debut rock EP, MICAH MARTIN, introduced the next phase of his solo career, and with debut album All I Need on the way, he is now bringing his rock roots, electronic influences, and emotional songwriting together into one unified sound.

“‘VHS‘ is a letter to the kid I used to be. It’s about grieving the version of yourself that existed before life got so overwhelming & sometimes chaotic… before deadlines, expectations, and the weight of growing up. Sometimes I wish I could pull those memories off a shelf like an old VHS tape and spend one more day in a world that felt slower, simpler, and full of possibility. I think we’ve all had moments where we miss who we were just as much as where we were.” – Micah Martin about “VHS” single

Grief for the person you used to be runs through “VHS,” the new single from Micah Martin and the fourth track revealed from his debut album, All I Need, arriving November 20. Where “Burn Them All” with OddKidOut leaned into heavy guitars and jump-up drum & bass, “VHS” explores the more electronic and alternative side of Micah’s Rocktronic sound. Pairing electronic drums and synth production with his rock-driven vocals, the track channels nostalgia for a slower, simpler time and the desire to revisit the past like pulling an old tape off the shelf. Produced alongside emerging bass artist WALSCHLAGER, the song balances gritty, high-impact production with a more reflective emotional core, while Micah also contributed to the composition and production himself.

Following “Tomorrow’s Over” with HIGHSOCIETY, “Burn Them All” with OddKidOut and “Thrown Away,” “VHS” continues to reveal the range of the 17-track All I Need, bridging electronic dance music, rock and metal while reflecting the musical worlds Micah Martin has spent the last decade bringing together.
