When you enter into a market that is starting to become over-saturated, you better make sure that you have a feature that makes you stand out from the fray. On our latest dive into the indie world, we are exploring our own backyard and checking out the latest EP from producer Ravenscoon Rapid Eye Movements. Born in Georgia but now based in San Francisco, CA, Paul Conversano’s love of electronic music continues to flourish with whatever genre he happens to dive into that day. While he has become known for combining elements of hip-hop, punk rock, and death metal through the medium of experimental bass, no genre stone goes unturned once Ravenscoon steps into the booth. While this unique blend can be found in his original works, his highly popular mixtape series allows him to flow in and out of genres with ease. Already making a statement this early on in his career, Ravenscoon has no plans of slowing down and we take the industry by force.
Ravenscoon aims to make 2021 his year, starting off early on in the year with his latest independent EP Rapid Eye Movements. Centered around the concepts of darkness, sleep, and the very definition of reality, this 4 track EP could easily become the soundtrack to your next unexplained dream. Carefully crafted to be in the same key and BPM, Ravenscoon created Rapid Eye Movement to be an endless flowing loop that will earworm its way into your brain. While the tracks are uniform in production, each song provides a different experience and feeling as the listener explores Ravenscoon version of an audible soundscape. You won’t be sleeping on this EP, so make sure you focus in on Ravenscoon and pay attention to what he offers next.
“I wanted it to feel like you were falling backwards into an endless beautiful abyss, surrounded by green energy.” – Ravenscoon
