Rockers A Sunday Fire Have Summoned “The Crowned Owl”, You Best Be Prepared
With all of the absurd experimental music we’ve been kicking around with recently, we need to take a step back to our alternative roots. On our latest visit to the alternative scene we are checking out “The Crowned Owl”, the latest single from A Sunday Fire. In today’s landscape, bands like A Sunday Fire need to be focused on one key thing, development, and growth as a band. Debuting all the way back in 2017 with their initial EP Mobtown Funk, A Sunday Fire has been slowly teasing and cultivating an audience over the years since. Now with a handful of singles, an EP, and an album under their belt, the band continued to tweak their sound to appeal to a wider audience while still aiming to keep their core sound intact. While it can be argued if that mindset is even possible to do at an early stage, sometimes bands like A Sunday Fire need to experiment a bit before coming back. This is their return to form.
When you have the range, level of talent, and plenty of freedom in the alternative space, why would you stick to just one genre/style? Genres are just agreed upon guides anyway, since the rules of genre were essentially designed to be broken and hybridized. The latest single to come out of the A Sunday Fire camp, “The Crowned Owl”, is a solid example of not letting one style of rock take control and let your influences flow as a single unit. The track combines high-energy guitar work, emotionally raw vocal performances, and edgy style to create another single that screams A Sunday Fire. While the alternative world is vast with many musicians aiming for their break, A Sunday Fire is a contender with uncommon styles worth exploring.
