Protocol’s Nicky Romero Joins NIIKO X SWAE for Overwhelmingly Positive Summer Vibes in “Easy”

Now that summer is in full swing, we need more upbeat and positive energy singles to bleed out onto the airwaves. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “Easy”, the latest single from Nicky Romero and NIIKO X SWAE.  Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament. Romero’s list of accomplishments keeps growing, now including a brand new partnership with Fader Pro and a release of his own NFT collection!

We connected a while back ago, and the guys sent me some music. ‘Easy‘ grabbed my attention immediately as it had these very positive vibes, giving me a feeling of happiness. They did amazing work already, but the original demo was a bit slower and needed some more tweaks. I took the stems back to my studio and spent some time on the production, reworking it. After going back and forth a few times with NIIKO X SWAE, ‘Easy‘ was done! We just played it together at my Academy show in Los Angeles on June 18, and we can’t wait to give it more spins and see how people react to it.” – Nicky Romero

Easy‘ is an ode to the little things in life, like the laid-back summers we all experienced in our youth. Whether it’s carefree moments with your friends or cherishing a memory for the rest of your life, ‘Easy‘ is set to invoke a sense of nostalgia that takes you back to that special place in time. Working with Nicky has been a dream come true for us as he has always been one of our biggest inspirations since the day we started producing music. When we got back his version of ‘Easy,’ we knew we had a summer anthem on our hands, and we’re so excited for the world to hear it.” – NIIKO X SWAE

We asked and manifested a refreshing treat for this summer and it looks like our cries were answered. Coming hot off of the heels of finally unveiling his Protocol Lab sub-label, Romero is priming up the audience for a killer summer filled to the brim with positive vibes. Having previously connected professionally ages ago, NIIKO X SWAE pitched a handful of tracks over to Romero for a chance to work with him and the Protocol team. Completely swoon by the positive sound and vibes of the single, Romero took “Easy” back into the studio and cut a much more energetic version that fits the track’s positivity much more. A true ode to the little things and little moments in life, “Easy” is a heart-warming single the begs for the listener to be present and appreciate the current moment, as many people are starting to learn after the last two years. It isn’t a problem to take life on “Easy” mode sometimes, just to recharge.
