Even though the night club scene is on life support at the moment, won’t stop artists dropping brand new club mixes. On this recent trip over to Protocol we checked out a brand new club mix of “Explain To Me”, the latest drop from Souvenyr, DØBER, and Mila Falls. Protocol continues to impress us with their collection, continually expanding their offerings with a wide variety of styles. With DØBER officially debuting on the label, his tech-house production is a much-needed addition to the roster and providing a break from the progressive. Now that DØBER found his place in the roster, there are plenty of other producers and artists ready and waiting for this tech-house newcomer. Multi-instrumentalist Souvenyr makes his official Protocol debut with this latest single adding another notch on his belt of career highlights, Souvenyr is professionally trained with multiple instruments and has worked with artists such as Linda Király, Alessia Labate, x.o.anne, and Curtis Richardson.
Souvenyr, DØBER, and Mila Falls may have won us over to this alt-progressive sound that Protocol seems to be experimenting with, the original “Explain To Me” track, but this new mix hits us in a completely different way. Protocol’s latest club mix completes its mission just like it was created to do, hyping up those urges that electronic music fans have been hiding for 2020. With clubs and festivals closed due to the pandemic, there are only a few tracks like this club mix that pushes that urge to the surface and actually hyping us up to go to these events once more. The new mix enhances “Explain To Me”‘s bounce element, giving a different tempo throughout the entire experience.
