Protocol Alert! Jeffrey Sutorius, Timmo Hendriks, & LUX Release Classic Big Room House Single “The Afterlife”

While thrings may get a bit messy in the process, as long as you come out on your own terms then you have the drive to succeed. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “The Afterlife”, the latest single from Jeffrey Sutorius and Timmo Hendriks. While you may not recognize Sutorius by name just yet, you will definitely recognize his work. Sutorius grew to prominence as a member of Dash Berlin, but as since left the group and pursued a solo venture. He received an IDMA award in the category “Best High Energy Track” at the International Dance Music Awards in 2009 and was nominated for an IDMA award several times afterward.

One of the most prominent producers of the late aughts. Dash Berlin was a household name for hits such as “Til The Sky Falls Down” and “Waiting”. Finding worldwide success early on in their career, Dash Berlin signed to Armada Records and became a mainstay in the professional community. Dash continued dropping banger after festival banger and solidified their staying power by earning a spot on DJMag’s Top 100 DJs list. Even with an extended break in recent history, Dash Berlin has kept in the top 20 for over eight consecutive years!

New producing under his own name, Sutorius returning to Protocol, and recruiting Timmo Hendriks for a new production is exactly what we needed. The second collaboration between Sutorius and Hendriks, “The Afterlife” is the answer to fill the big room void in our hearts since out last festival. Screaming all of the classic tropes of big room house, this single feels like it was ripped right out of the past and inserted into our current timeline, bringing back memories of our introduction to EDM in the big room craze in the early 2010s. This is the kind of electronic music that Protocol was built upon back towards its inception and we are glad to see Protocol’s continued support today. While we always preach that artists need to grow and evolve their sound as the music industry shifts, but we still need producers like Sutorius to bring back sounds from our younger years that we’ve missed.
