Producers BROHUG Drop New 4-Track EP “Mixtape 1”, Letting Their Bass Music Sound Run Wild
While they may have come on our radar attached to a well-known power-house, but these producers have enough talent to stand on their own. This week we are checking out Mixtape 1, a brand new EP from BROHUG over on their BROHOUSE label. Founded back in 2016 in Sweden by John Dahlbäck, Chris Lunde, and Niklas Lunde, BROHUG has amassed plenty of talent behind their satirical name. BROHUG has worked with the likes of Ghastly and Steve Angello, as well as dropping releases on labels such as Confession, Spinnin’ Records, Dim Mak, Musical Freedom, and now launching their own label BROHOUSE. 2019 may have been a year for back to back BROHUG hits, but 2020 is even brighter for these electro-house maestros.
We may have snagged a taste of BROHUG’s sound when we checked out Kaskade’s “1999”, but now we get to see them on full display. Unveiling their more refined bass music style throughout their previous live sets, BROHUG uses Mixtape 1 to showcase this sound to its fullest. Heavily influenced by classic bass and tech-house sounds, BROHUG takes the gambit and runs with it, hitting plenty of different angles of the bass music coin. If you prefer something that hits hard and takes no prisoners, “Detox” is just what you need. However, if you prefer something that lets the bass take the steering wheel and drive towards a sweet melody, you can still find what you’re looking for in “Trouble”. Mixtape 1 is an interesting EP, serving as a modern interpretation of bass and tech house music.
