Nashville’s Jordyn Releases Timeless & Eclectic Debut Album “Innersections”
With a long week ahead, we need to tap into a bit of timeless magic before we go. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out Innersections, the debut album of Jordyn. Jordyn is a multifaceted recording artist whose upbringing in a multi-ethnic family endowed him with a deep appreciation for diverse musical styles and cultures. His remarkable ability to seamlessly traverse between genres and mediums has earned him recognition from industry icons such as Berry Gordy, who enlisted him as a songwriter and vocal producer for Motown Records in 2015. Jordyn’s collaborations with a wide spectrum of artists, from Twista to Lay Zhang (EXO), showcase his versatility and innovative approach to music production. In 2019, he joined Red Bull Music’s esteemed roster, further solidifying his position in the industry, before transitioning to Secret Road in 2021, where his compositions have found placements in prominent multimedia platforms such as the NFL, Netflix, and Disney. Jordyn’s journey is characterized by his unwavering dedication, creative prowess, and ability to craft compelling compositions that resonate with audiences worldwide, establishing him as a notable figure in contemporary music.
“Innersections to me is about being at a creative crossroads with 2 choices – do something comfortable, or take an unfamiliar path/ In this season, curiosity led me to explore more inner sections of myself, & courage led me to expose them. I come from a world of performing & top lining on contemporary Hip Hop/R&B/Pop production. This phase of my creative journey called for a more bare bones approach, with most of the project consisting of no more than 5 organic instrument tracks. My collaborators & I explored an array of expression; some vintage soul, a little folk, a little country, gospel, Hip-Hop & Alt/Pop. I’m running the gamut from traditional, classic songwriting to dynamic Hip-Hop cadence & wordplay. On this project, I took my eclectic influence & turned it into a gumbo for everyone to enjoy.”
