Monocule and Tim van Werd Join Forces For their Second Collab – Deep and Emotive Progressive Track “On My Mind”
Our boy Romero has spent a bit too much time in the light and now it is time to switch places. On our latest visit over to Protocol we are checking out “On My Mind”, the latest from Monocule and Tim van Werd. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament. Romero’s list of accomplishments keeps growing, now including a brand new partnership with Fader Pro and a release of his own NFT collection!
With more and more producers taking on “alter-egos” in order to release a different style of music, we’re often surprised yet excited whenever Monocule, stops by for a visit. Finding complimentary stylistic traits with Tim van Werd, Monocule is back to showcase that signature deep progressive house sound that runs wild on this side of the Romero coin. Utilizing the effects of dreamy melodies, subtle basslines, and soft vocals, “On My Mind” transforms from yet another house track to a more complex production, one that is now more dark and emotive than before. With this being the 2nd collaboration between Monocule and van Werd, we now know that as listeners we will receive top tier Monocule when van Werd jumps into the studio too.
