Modern Pop-Punk Rocker Charlotte Sands Launches Into 2022 With New EP “Love and Other Lies”
When an artist explains their musical influences such as prince of 90s grunge, we can relate. But there are times where we just feel old when artists like today’s feature explain how they were raised on 2000s pop-punk. The 2000s still feel like yesterday even though it was 20 years ago. On our latest check-in on the rock world we are checking out Love and Other Lies, a new EP from Charlotte Sands. Haiing from Massachusetts, Charlotte uncovered her love for music through a rather unique blend of influences, 2000s pop-punk as the framework with folk music for lyrics. Focusing on relaying personal and human experiences, Charlotte has captured the attention and hearts of the masses through bright and positive sounds…all through the lens of modern punk rock music. Her most recent single. “Dress”, broke the Top 100 on the iTunes Pop Chart and has amassed of 19 million streams online since its release. 2021 was a monumental year for Charlotte and her sound, so starting off 2022 with Love and Other Lies is a perfect way to ride that momentum.

We initially found our love for music in the rock genre, so whenever an artist like Charlotte slides into our DMs we have to give her a turn in the spotlight. Being the latest major release to come out of the Charlotte Sands camp, Love and Other Lies showcases Charlotte’s skill as a storyteller and a witty lyricist. Charlotte carefully weaves a positive yet explorative story into each track, focusing on a single core emotion for each song. While you might think a more indie-pop sound might be more appropriate for an EP like this, you clearly haven’t been paying attention to the evolution of rock music in today’s landscape. Overall, if you haven’t heard of Charlotte Sands or haven’t fully joined her fan camp just yet, Love and Other Lies is a perfect jumping-on point.
