Madisyn Gifford Leans Further Into Her Latest Era of Music With New Single “Fast One”
It doesn’t matter what the topic of her latest single is, Madisyn Gifford knows how to strike us in the feels. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “Fast One”, the latest from Madisyn Gifford. She may have just broken onto the Vancouver indie scene last fall, she is quickly finding her home. Being adept at singing basically since she could talk, Madisyn has been on the path to embracing the life of a musician since she was able to fathom the concept. Now at a mere twenty years old, Madisyn has plenty to tell listeners, along with the skills to back it up. Releasing her debut single “Without You” back in late 2020, she has already amassed almost 200k online streams. After a very active and prosperous 2021, Madisyn is ready to take the rest of 2022 by the horns and make 2022 her year.
“I wrote the song “Fast One” about two years ago after getting ghosted by a guy I liked. Relatable I know, The song is essentially about all of the feelings of sadness, shame, and betrayal that can often come from situations like that but also the humour that can come out of them as well. It’s funny how often times it’s the two month situationship that hurts more than the long term breakup, and this song is me pointing that out. Sonically we also wanted to highlight those contrasting emotions in the production. I think in the song you can sense the hurt but it also feels a bit tongue in cheek which is exactly what we wanted!”
The track features delicate instrumentation that highlights Madisyn’s expressive vocals and lyrical prowess. As she continues to evolve her folk-country sound, “Fast One” reflects her ability to blend emotional depth with a touch of whimsy, cementing her place as a promising talent in the genre.
