iskwē Unveils Passionate New Full-Length Album ‘nīna’ feat. Cathartic Electro Pop Closer “Exhale”
Even though we are all for high-octane EDM, we try to show that even we like to sit down and reflect. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “nina”, the new album from iskwē. iskwē is an extraordinary musical talent whose sound defies comparison, blending compelling storytelling with unmatched artistry. Her journey through music has been marked by accolades and acclaim, from her Juno-nominated debut album “The Fight Within” to her Juno Award-winning single “Little Star” from the album “acākosīk.” In 2021, she stunned audiences with “The Stars,” a reimagination of her previous work, showcasing her ability to reinvent her sound while staying true to her roots. Collaborating with composer Darren Fung, iskwē breathed new life into her tracks, accompanied by a trio of instruments recorded live in Toronto, as well as a captivating orchestral rendition recorded in Prague. Beyond her musical achievements, iskwē’s live performances are renowned for their immersive storytelling, incorporating elements of dance and multimedia to create unforgettable experiences for audiences worldwide. Recognized for her contributions to the arts, she received the Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Award in 2022 and continues to advocate for gender equality in the music industry as an ambassador for the PRS Keychange initiative. Hailing from Treaty 1, iskwē currently resides in Montreal, QC, where she continues to push boundaries and inspire with her unparalleled talent and unwavering passion for her craft.
